Pivotal Cardinals-Bobcats game postponed again

The 8-4A Conference basketball games between Dollarway and Dumas rescheduled for Monday were postponed for a second time due to inclement weather in Southeast Arkansas.

The games, set to be played at Dumas, were originially scheduled to be played last Tuesday before being postponed to Monday. They are the only remaining 8-4A Conference games, and a makeup date has not been announced.

The girls game holds no bearing on the playoffs, as the four spots in the 4A South Region tournament have already been set.

The boys game, however, has everything to do with the playoffs. The winner between Dollarway and Dumas will get the No. 3 seed in the regional. If the Cardinals lose, Warren will earn the No. 4 seed. If the Cardinals win, the Bobcats get the fourth seed.

The No. 3 seed is to play Bauxite at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, while the No. 4 seed will face Arkadelphia at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the regional quarterfinals in Monticello.
