The Jefferson County Republican Women held their monthly meeting Feb. 12 at the Pine Bluff Country Club.
The guest speaker was Pine Bluff Police Department Code Enforcement Director Susie Powell. Powell explained the workings of the SAFE Team Clean Sweep program and its goals for deterring crime in Pine Bluff.
Powell said that city citations are being issued and that eventually 600 abandoned buildings will cease to exist.
