A Pine Bluff police officer has resigned shortly after being booked into the Jefferson County jail on suspicion of third-degree battery.
Damian Durham, 27, was arrested and booked into the W.C. “Dub” Brassell jail at 11:24 p.m. Thursday.
He was released at 11:18 a.m. Friday.
Police have not released any further details into Durham’s arrest.
They have declined further comment through a spokesman.

Durham had been on the force since April 21.
Durham’s arrest comes three weeks after another Pine Bluff police officer, Xavier Higgins, 25, was fired after crashing his police cruiser into Sissy’s Log Cabin on South Camden Road.
He had been coming from a police lodge.
Police said Higgins was cited for driving while intoxicated, careless and prohibitive driving, and failure to obey a stop sign.
Higgins had worked in the Police Department since June 2024.
