Downtown Pine Bluff merchants will host free activities Saturday as part of a fall festival. On West Barraque Street, the Indigo Coffee House, which is scheduled to open near the end of the year, will host events from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 212 W. Barraque St.
At 10 a.m., children can participate in the pumpkin carving, tattoo art, dot art, and other activities. From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., there will also be do-it-yourself demonstrations for adults hosted by JUNE (Jennie’s Upcycle Natural Emporium), which will include how to make baskets from old newspapers and how to make bowls from old vinyl records.
A scavenger hunt focusing on downtown history will take place from 1-2 p.m. Participants will be required to use clues about downtown Pine Bluff to complete this event. Prizes will be awarded to the first and second place winners.
Cindy Grantham Brown is among three authors who will participate in a book fair. Her work includes, “Recruit,” which is based on a true story, and two children’s books. She is scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon. This event is sponsored by Dee Herring Real Estate and will be held at 214 W. Barraque St.
Art students from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will display their art and discuss their works throughout the day. Middle and high school students who are interested in majoring in art should come to the art fair to discuss their future plans.
In addition, the coffee house will offer free beverages, door prizes and candy apples for the children.
