The Pine Bluff Interested Citizens for Voter Registration and Pastors on Patrol continue to provide support to community organizations while upholding the spirit of the MLK Day of Service, according to a news release.
Recently, the group offered a free special limited edition of Mama’s Best Fried Chicken Breading to residents, restaurants, Neighbor to Neighbor and others as part of its community service initiative aimed at feeding citizens in need.
“By collaborating with the Area Agency Center of Southeast Arkansas to prepare nutritious meals, we are proud to extend our commitment to volunteering throughout the year,” said the Rev. Jesse C. Turner, president of the Pine Bluff Faith Community Coalition Ministerial Alliance. “Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of those around us.”
The effort is part of the initiative to support the Meals on Wheels program for senior citizens.
“This (breading) mix highlights the theme of volunteerism during the civil rights movement, and PBICVR PEN OR PENCIL Mentoring Movement is counting this effort as part of our activities throughout the year, which started on the MLK Day of Service 2025,” Turner said.
Working with United Way of Southeast Arkansas, Pastors on Patrol is actively involved in uplifting the community.
Pastors on Patrol is a faith-based mentoring movement, in partnership with the National Alliance of Faith and Justice.
