PB Dance Academy’s 32nd annual recital — Celebrating the Sounds of the City

The students of Pine Bluff Dance Academy, under the direction of Stacy Hardin, owner/instructor, danced to the rhythm of the “City Beat” during the 32nd annual dance recital, held recently at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.

“Celebrating the Sounds of the City,” the students performed group and solo routines to varied types of music, including “Miss You Much”, “Hound Dog”, “New York, New York”, “Rumor Has It,” and “Funk Soul Brotha.”

Jason Lochmann, a 2012 graduate of Watson Chapel High School, and duet partner, Grace McKissic, performed the number which earned them the Arkansas State Fair Youth Talent Overall Dance Group award.

McKissic, a sophomore at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, also performed her winning tap routine for which she was named Overall Dance Solo winner and 2011 Overall Grand Champion of the State Fair Youth Talent competition.

Hardin, Delaney Dalton, Chloe Hargis and Cash Hargis danced a heartfelt tribute to the sound of “Remember When”, in tribute to graduting seniors Somer Seamans, Lochmann, and DesaRay Rojas.

Awards and scholarships were presented at the conclusion of the recital.

Registration is currently underway for the 2012 summer dance session, which begins Tuesday. Gymnastics, cheer, tumbling, and all forms of dance will be offered. For more information, call 870-534-1053 or 870-536-5200.
