Parole board turns down sentence commutations from four from Southeast Arkansas

Four Southeast Arkansas residents currently serving prison sentences had their applications for a sentence commutation rejected by the parole board last week.

The board also said the applications of two others who were seeking a pardon from the governor were without merit.

Those who were seeking a sentence commutation, the county of conviction and crimes convicted of were as follows:

* Kevin Collier, Jefferson County, first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, residential burglary and theft of property; Desha County forgery, three counts probation revocation; Bradley County, residential burglary, theft of property and two probation revocations.

* Lee Harris, Desha County, manufacture, delivery of possession of a controlled substance as an habitual offender and subsequent convictions.

* Cornelanius Phillips, Bradley County, capital murder.

* Steve Robinson, Lincoln County, first-degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm, abuse of a corpse.

Those who were seeking a pardon, the county of conviction and charges convicted of were as follows:

* Robert Greene, Jefferson County, theft by receiving, also multiple convictions from Benton County.
* Jeff Murray, Grant County, felon in possession of a firearm, also a conviction from Pulaski County.
