The Arkansas Parole Board on Tuesday turned down the applications of three Southeast Arkansas residents who were seeking to have their prison sentences commuted.
The three, the county of conviction and crimes convicted of were as follows:
* Stephen Buffington, Jefferson County, aggravated robbery and second-degree escape as an habitual offender. He was also convicted of two counts of aggravated robbery in Sebastian County.
* Robert Moten, Arkansas County, first-degree battery and second-degree battery.
* Henry Stroud, Dallas County, first-degree murder.
A total of 35 applications were rejected by the board Tuesday.
