The Jefferson County Board of Election Commissioners will meet at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at the election center, 123 S. Main St. The commissioners will discuss budget and accounting issues, school election training, approve election workers, weapons at polling sites and a report from the election coordinator.
The election commission will also prepare voting machines for the Sept. 15 School Election. Machines may be inspected by one representative of each candidate. Voting machine and electronic vote tabulating device testing will follow machine preparation and is open to the public.
