A McGehee man was killed Tuesday evening when he was struck by a vehicle while walking across the highway in McGehee.
James W. Mott, 51, of McGehee, was walking east across U.S. 65 when he was struck by a 1992 Jeep that was northbound at the time, according to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police.
The Jeep was driven by Earl R. Nicholson Jr., 30, also of McGehee, State Police said.
The accident was reported at 8:45 p.m. and according to the report from Trooper First Class Keondrick Thompson, the weather was clear and the roadway was dry at the time.
Funeral arrangements for Mott will be announced by Griffin Funeral Home of McGehee, the report said.
The report also indicated that Nicholson was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
