DOTHAN, ALA. – Mary Nell Moncrief New, 67, Dothan, Alabama passed away January 5, 2015. She was born in Watson, Arkansas on March 29, 1947 the daughter of Alvin and Alta Mobbs Moncrief. Her parents and three brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. New was a member of Harvest Baptist Church, a Master Gardner, member of Dothan Garden Club, an avid Artist; she worked with hearing impaired children and was a master quilter. Mrs. New taught school for the Corpus Christi Indendentant school District for fifteen years.
Survivors are her husband, Jerry Don New of Dothan, Alabama, son, ND1 Jerrod Lance New of Virginia Beach, Virginia and daughter, Amanda (Aimi) Donell Baker of Spring, Texas, two brothers, Billy and James Moncrief both of Dumas, Arkansas and two sister, Jo Ann Henley and Becky Wynn both of Star City, Arkansas and two grandchildren.
Visitation held 5-7 pm on Thursday, January 8, Griffin Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services held 2:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2015, Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
