To highlight the Jan. 27-Feb. 3 National School Choice Week observance, Pine Bluff Lighthouse Charter School will have a rally and parade of parents, students, teachers and community leaders at 1 p.m. Friday at its 708 W. Second Ave. campus.
University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff football players and members of the Pine Bluff Fire and Police departments will participate.
Lighthouse partner the Rev. Jesse Turner of Interested Citizens for Voter Registration will speak, along with the winning author of a student essay contest, and a talent show will be presented.
School Choice Week notes the contributions of high-performing public, public charter, private, magnet and virtual schools as well as home schooling.
