The 2025 Leadership Pine Bluff Class visited the state Capitol for its July “State Government” session.

The day began with a guided tour of the Capitol, where participants learned about the state’s legislative process and the building’s history.

“One exciting highlight was a stop at the State Treasurer’s Office, where members had the rare opportunity to hold $600,000 in cash — a hands-on lesson in fiscal responsibility,” according to a news release.

The group then visited the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, where they explored the contributions and stories of African Americans in Arkansas.

“This powerful and educational stop highlighted the importance of cultural awareness and historical understanding in leadership,” according to the release.

Next, the class made its way to the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce, where they had lunch from Cotham’s in the City and heard an informative presentation from Randy Zook, president and CEO of the state chamber. His talk gave insight into the state’s economic development efforts and the role business plays in shaping policy.

To cap off the day, the class took on a team-building activity at the Mystery Mansion Escape Rooms.

“It was the perfect way to strengthen collaboration and problem-solving skills while sharing some laughs and building camaraderie,” according to the release.

This session offered a look at how state government, culture and commerce intersect — and how leaders can make an impact across all levels.

Leadership Pine Bluff is a program of the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce. The presenting sponsor is Saracen Casino Resort.
