GARY, IND. – Larry Hill, of Gary Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Methodist Hospital South Lake Campus in Gary, Indiana.
He was born in Pine Bluff, Ark., the son of the late Alberta (Blackman) Hill and the late Lewis Hill, both of Pine Bluff, Ark.
After attending Southeast Junior High School, he moved to Gary Indiana where he secured a job with U.S. Steel. While there, he moved up through the ranks and became a very successful Foreman and retired after 30 years of employment.
Siblings preceding him in death were his brothers Carlton Hill and Lewis Hill, JR., both of Detroit,Michigan, along with one sister, Martha Carr, of Pine Bluff, Ark.
He is survived by two daughters; Lisa Hill of Gary, Ind., Kim Hill of Atlanta, Ga., one son; Gregory Hill, along with five grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by three sisters; Carrie M. Manning, Barbara “Bobby” Johnson (h. Ezelle Johnson) and Geraldine Hughes (h. Willie L. Hughes), all of Pine Bluff, Ark., along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and close family friends.
