WHITE HALL – Larry Joe Fugate, 69, of White Hall, died Thursday, March 05, 2015 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He had lived in White Hall for 10 years, moving there from Jonesboro. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. Larry was a long time active member of the Exchange Club in Jonesboro and the Rotary Club in Pine Bluff. Larry spent more than 20 years in the journalism profession as a reporter and editor, He was an advocate for the Freedom of Information Act. He enjoyed working with the Royal Ambassadors through his church ministry.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Martha Fugate of the home; daughter, Kayla Sherlin of White Hall; brother, Stanley Blosser of Las Vegas; sister, Sue Rever of Meeteetse, Wy., and granddaughter, Madison Sherlin.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 09, 2015 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro, with Arliss Dickerson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitaion will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Monday. Burial will be private.
