Lane closures set for U.S. 270 in Grant, Jefferson counties

Lane closures have been announced for U.S. 270 in Grant and Jefferson counties next week while crews perform a chip sealing operation, Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department officials said.

The moving lane closures are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. The work will be done on Highway 270 near Hardin in Jefferson County and in extreme eastern Grant County, near the Jefferson County line.

The work will require one of the available travel lanes to be closed temporarily during the day.

Due to the possibility of loose gravel in the travel lanes, motorcyclists should take additional care while traveling through the project area. The moving lane closure’s pilot car will be able to periodically pull off the road to allow traffic to pass by. Motorists are encouraged to be patient through the construction zone.
