The Kiwanis Club of Pine Bluff will host the second annual Coffee With a Cop Day from 6 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Lucky’s Cafe, 310 E. Fifth Ave.
Doughnuts will be donated by the Kiwanis Club and Lucky’s Cafe is donating the coffee to all who come by for conversation with police.
The Kiwanis Club is joining a nationwide effort to bring Pine Bluff residents and local police officers together to discuss issues of importance in the city.
“There are no agendas or speeches, just a chance for the public to come by and to ask questions, voice concerns and get to meet the men and women who do their best to protect and serve us every day,” according to a news release.
More than 2,000 law enforcement agencies throughout the United States participate in these events.
“Coffee with a Cop is a movement designed to help break down the barriers in communities between residents and officers that can make it hard to address crime and public safety. It is a simple plan: Officers and residents join together for a cup of coffee and a conversation,” according to a news release.
