After fighting multiple sclerosis (MS) for 22 years, Kasey Brown of Pine Bluff recently participated in WalkMSCincinnati2024.

The event is an experience unlike any other walk, according to a news release.

Brown reunited with Kasey’s Krushers, a team she formed 13 years ago. The team consists of family, friends and others affected by MS.

WalkMS, the largest gathering of its kind, brings people together to raise funds and make a difference for everyone living with MS. Every year, families and friends from near and far participate to support those suffering from the chronic disease.

Even though Brown has returned to her Pine Bluff home, her MS Team members in Cincinnati are encouraging her to join them every year and keep Kasey’s Krushers alive.

Brown is a 1998 honor graduate of Pine Bluff High School, and in 2002, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

While in college, she was also a reporter for The Pine Bluff Commercial. After college, she relocated to Cincinnati, where she was a freelance writer before she began to exhibit several signs of multiple sclerosis.

Diplopia, an eye condition which doubles vision, and overwhelming fatigue were symptoms she suffered.

Brown immediately became involved with the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to learn everything she could about MS and obtain all resources available for patients.

Before long, she joined a support group to discuss and learn how to fight MS. During her 20-year stay in Cincinnati, she got involved in Walk MS Cincinnati.
