Registration is underway for a free six-week class in diabetes education at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
The Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP) sessions will begin Wednesday, Aug. 23, from 10-11:30 a.m. Classes will continue each Thursday for six weeks.
“Individuals with diabetes or pre-diabetes will learn how the disease affects the body, how to monitor and understand blood sugar numbers, and how to shop and cook in a healthier manner.,” according to a news release.
