John Kalkbrenner


John Loys Kalkbrenner, 90, of Pine Bluff, Ark., died Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 22, 1924, in Pine Bluff, Ark. His parents were Henry and Pansy Thompson Kalkbrenner.

He was reared and educated in Malden, Mo., where he graduated High School. He also graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a degree in Civil Engineering.

Mr. Kalkbrenner was a Master Gardener and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

He had worked for Cotton Belt and Southern Pacific Railroad as a Civil Engineer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Hutchcraft; a son, David Kalkbrenner of Sherwood; a daughter, Christy Rhoads (Bob) of North Little Rock; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m., Monday, at Wesley United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015, at Wesley United Methodist Church with Reverend Reginald Russell officiating.

Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery.
