Joan Eleanor Sanders Turner, 79, of Bella Vista, Ark., joined her family in Heaven, June 14, 2012.
The daughter of Emmett Earlton Sanders and Iris Stone Sanders, Eleanor was born March 27, 1933 in Pine Bluff, Ark. She lived a short time in Monroe, Louisiana and returned to Pine Bluff where she attended Watson Chapel Schools, graduating in 1951. Eleanor also lived several years in Hot Springs, Ark. where she worked as a teacher’s assistant in the Hot Springs Lakeside School District. Most recently, she was a resident of Bella Vista, Ark. and was a member of First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Ark.
Preceded in death by her parents; Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Robbin Turner Byrd, son-in-law Ron Byrd, grandson Brad Byrd of Bentonville, and brother Earlton Sanders, and his wife, Susan Sanders of Huntsville, Ark.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 2, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Bentonville. A private graveside service for the family will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Pine Bluff, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, Eleanor’s request was for memorial donations to be made to Bentonville First Baptist Church Women’s Ministry, 220 South Main Street, Bentonville, Ark., 72712.
