Jefferson County sees more homes sold in March 2015 than previous March

Jefferson County saw an increase in the number of homes that were sold in March 2015 versus March 2014, according to a report released by the Arkansas Realtors Association.

Thirty-seven homes sold in March 2015 in Jefferson County, compared with 22 homes in March 2014 in the same area. For the year-to-date, 82 houses have been sold this year in Jefferson County, compared with 67 by the same time in 2014.

The average price of a home sold in Jefferson County in March 2015 was $84,539, compared to $92,639 in March 2014. Year-to-date figures for all counties surveyed were $87,635 in 2015 and $82,519 in 2014.

Statewide, year-over-year home sale prices for March 2015 increased by 8.5 percent from March 2014, among the counties that the Realtors Association surveys. The average price of the homes sold in the counties surveyed by the association increased from $146,493 in March 2014 to $158,959 in March 2015.

The counties where the most units were sold in March were in Benton, Pulaski and Washington counties.

Also in Southeast Arkansas, the Realtors Association collects information on Grant County, where five homes were sold in March 2015, compared with 12 homes in March 2014. For the year-to-date in Grant County, 15 homes have sold this year, compared with 23 by the same month last year.
