Janet Darlene Mitchell, 54, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday at JRMC. She was born October 17, 1961 in Pine Bluff to James and Carolyn Chapman Shipman of Star City. She was a proud member of Kappa Phi Lambda, and was the office manager for Dr. Ruston Pierce for 30 years. She was a member of Southside Missionary Baptist Church in Star City and attended Greenlee Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
Other survivors include her husband, Scott Mitchell of Pine Bluff; son, Matt Henley of Little Rock; daughter, Jana Hoyt of Star City; step-son, Jeremy Mitchell of Little Rock; step-daughter, Jennifer Watkins of Fayetteville; 2 brothers, James Thomas Shipman of Hawaii, Hershell Shipman of Missouri; sister, Vonda Cullins of Star City; and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City. Bro. Joseph Pemberton will officiate. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
