James Tony Pevey, 63, of the Clearwater Lake Community (Grant County), passed away at his home May 18, 2016. He was born November 30, 1952 in Pine Bluff to the late Louis and Ethel Millen Pevey.
He was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Glendale and Redfield Hunting Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal after 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Clifton, Bobby, Ronald and Ted.
He is survived by two sisters, Pat (J.W.) Gavin of Herbine and Jane (John) Randolph of Sheridan; two brothers, Richard Pevey of Star City and George (Maudie Lynn) Pevey of Griffith Springs (Lincoln County) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Johnny Brewster officiating. Visitation is 1-2 p.m.Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial at Pleasant Springs Cemetery in Coleman.
