DOUBLE WELLS – James Capel “Jim” Kelley, 77, of the Double Wells Community, was called home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 14, 2016.
Born August 30, 1938 at Pine Bluff, he was a son of the late Vernon Otis Kelley and Myrtle Domenik Kelley.
Mr. Kelley was a 1956 graduate of Pine Bluff High School and an active member of Broadmoor Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Choir Director. He retired from the “Cotton Belt” Railroad after 42 years of service.
His pastimes included gardening, woodwork, spoiling grandchildren and most importantly serving the Lord.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Mrs. Barbara Jean Kelley; an infant son and six siblings.
He is survived by Mrs. Helen Hawkins Morgan Kelley, whom he married April 23, 2011; sons, Brian, Stuart, Scott and Mike Kelley; daughter, Robin Gunn; sister, Florine Blackstock; five step-children; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many other loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel followed by Graveside Services at Lee Cemetery.
