James Bone Sr.


MONTICELLO — James Robert Bone, Sr., 86 of Monticello passed away September 10, 2012 at his home. He was born on June 4, 1926 in Lonoke, Ark. to the late John Dillard Bone and Rose Mae Long Bone and was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ellen Bone.

He was president of Monticello Aluminum Company having retired after 50 years, was a member of Second Baptist Church and was a veteran of U.S Army serving in World War II. He served in the Japan Occupation Force after the war was over.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Meredith Joan McCollum Bone of Monticello; two sons, Jeffery Bone of Monticello, and Jimmy Bone, Jr. and wife Phyllis of Dardanelle; one daughter, Rosemarie Spaulding of Springdale; two sisters, Clara Mae Raper of Lonoke and Louise Chambers of California City, Calif.; five grandchildren, Holly Ingebo and husband Aaron, Jesica Edwards and husband Kevin, Lauryn Bone, Parker Spalding and Anna Spalding; three great-grandchildren, Noah Pilcher, Aidan Ingebo and Alec Ingebo.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church in Monticello.

Burial with Military Honors will be at Gaster Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
