Nina Irene Bitely McPherson, age 90, of Pine Bluff, died Monday, September 19, 2016.
Born July 3, 1926 near Grady in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Merchant Hamilton (M.H.) Bitely and Nina Alice Nelson Bitely. For a number of years, she was the secretary of the Bitely Gin. She also was a volunteer EMT with the Grady Ambulance Service.
Mrs. McPherson was a member of the Linwood Baptist Church, where she had served as church clerk and a Sunday school teacher.
Her husband of 63 years, Vernon McPherson predeceased her on August 13, 2013. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her sons, Norman McPherson (Karen) and Bryan
McPherson (Lou Ann); two sisters, Annie Baker and Lucille Eifling; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 21, 2016, 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service.
Arrangements are by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
