Improvements to Interstate 530 will require lane closures in Pulaski County in the months ahead, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department officials.
Crews have begun resurfacing 8.4 miles of Interstate 530 extending from Bingham Road northward to Interstate 30.
Motorists can expect both northbound and southbound travel lanes to be limited to one lane periodically for the duration of the project. The lane closures will be located between mile marker .5 and mile marker eight and be in effect 24 hours a day.
In addition to reconstructing the main travel lanes, crews will rehabilitate four bridge structures and install wire rope safety fence along the eight-mile length of the project.
Redstone Construction Group of Little Rock was awarded the contract at $65,144,702.59. Estimated completion of the work is expected in late 2015. Details: IDriveArkansas.com or ArkansasHighways.com or on Twitter @AHTD.
