Jefferson County Road and Recycling Report

The roads that were repaired by the Jefferson County Road Department were as follows:

Sept. 5

– Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Rosswood Road, Gibson Road, Springlake Road and Pine Cone Lane.

– Grader Operator: Graded Lisa Lane, Melanie Lane, Weekly Road, Peaceful Valley Road, Richmond Core Road, Wabbaseka Road, Hartley Dump Road and Jeter Road.

– Bom Mower Crew: Cut right of way on Summers Road.

– Sign Shop: Road signs were put up on Gaddy Koonce Road. A stop sign was put up on Whiteville Road and the rest of the day was spent in the sign shop making signs.

Sept. 6

– Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Ferda Road, State Farm Road and Clint Henderson Road.

Sept. 8

– Culvert Crew: One ton of B-stone was spread on the end of the culvert on Gravel Pit Road and 36 yards of fill dirt was spread on a lot at 16th Avenue and Pennsylvania Street for the Jefferson County Extension Service.

– Grader Operator: Graded Garrett Road, Freeman Road and Longbell Road.

– Tiger Mower: Cut grass and bushes on Pointer Road.

– Sign Shop: Put a sign on Walker Road and made a one call report for the culvert that is to be put in on Sulphur Springs Road.

– We want to thank the Juvenile Court Community Service Director and the Sixth Division of Circuit Court (Juvenile Court) for picking up trash along side the roads on Good Faith Road, Ryburn Road, Old Warren Road and Middle Warren Road. Thank you. A job well done and it is appreciated.

Sept. 9

– Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Forrest Oak Drive, Rob Roy Road, Divoky Road, Kilcrease Road, Red Oak Lane and Pin Oak Lane.

– Culvert Crew: Installed a 12-foot-by-12-foot and a 12-foot-by-24-foot driveway culvert on Oriole Avenue and covered it with 12 yards of SB2.

– Set Up Crew: Twelve yards of sealing chips were put on Wilderness Road and Meadowlark Drive and spread 24 yards of SB2 to Old Star City Highway.

– Truck Driver: Haled 12 yards of chip and seal material to Wilderness Road and Meadowlark Drive. Hauled 12 yards of SB2 to Oriole Road and hauled 24 yards of SB2 to Old Star City Highway.

– Grader Operator: Graded Morrow Road, Mulberry Road, Ty Lane, Gibb Anderson Road and Sunny Circle.

– Boom Mower: Cut right of way on Robinson Road, Dyson Road and Spring Lake Road.

– Tiger Mower: Cut grass and bushes on Pointer Road and Townsend Road.

– Sign Shop: Put a “no loaded log trucks” sign on Chaney Road and put a “dead end” sign on Oriole Avenue. Put a mail box up on Wilderness Road.

Sept. 10

– Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Sweetgum Lane, Lindsey Drive, Sumac Drive, Dixon Lane, Meadowood Lane, Robinson Road, Middle Warren Road, Curtis Road and Pinebergen Road.

– Culvert Crew: Reset cross drain pipe on Azalea Drive and covered it with six tons of B-stone. Covered drain pipe on Meadowpond with a half-ton of SB2 and covered a drain pipe on Henderson Road with one ton of SB2.

– Set Up Crew: A chip and seal surface was put on Wilbur West Road. Thirty-six yards of sealing chips were used on the road.

– Truck Driver: Hauled 36 yards of sealing chips to Wilbur West Road. Hauled six tons of B-stone to Azalea Drive, a half-ton of SB2 to Meadowpond Road and one ton of SB2 to Henderson Road.

– Grader Operator: Graded Bennett Road, Archer Road, Fisher Adams Road, McEntire Road, Fluke Kelly Road, Willie Jackson Road and Altheimer East Road.

– Tiger Mower: Cut grass in ditches on South Pack Road and Horseshoe Lake Road.

– Sign Shop: Put a road sign and stop sign on Bice Drive and put a “stop ahead” sign on Dyson Road.

Sept. 11

– Patching Crew: Filled potholes on McFadden Road and Azalea Hill. Hauled dirt to the Jefferson County Extension Office to put on the youth garden.

– Truck Driver: Hauled 12 yards of SB2 to State Farm Road.

– Grader Operator: Graded North Pack Road, County Line Road, Graded State Farm Road and spread 12 yards of SB2 on the road.

Jefferson County Recycling Report

– Brought in six tire boxes, five cardboard boxes, three newspaper boxes, two plastic boxes and two trash boxes.

– Brought three trash trailers in. Sent three trash trailers out.

– Jefferson County brought in 32.29 tons of tires. Get Rid of It/Waste Management brought in 46.57 tons of tires.

– Continued operating the new recycling facility and started new operating hours of 8 a.m.to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
