A fire at a house on Georgia Street is being investigated as a possible arson, Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department Chief Shauwn Howell said Thursday morning.
Howell said the single-story wood-frame house at 1503 Georgia St. received moderate damage from the fire, which was reported to dispatchers at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. Howell said the fire started on the outside of the structure.
“The owner said he was doing some repairs and had not had any problem with anyone in the area, but because of where it started, the fire marshal is going to investigate,” Howell said.
There were no injuries reported.
