Willing Workers of White Hall Extension Homemakers Club has changed its name to White Hall Willing Workers EH Club. The club met June 24 at the White Hall Library.

President Karen Needler welcomed everyone. Jim Wilson blessed the food and members had a pizza meal provided by Needler, Dee Kindrick and Jo Ann Carr.

Kathy Wilson read The Thought of the Month: We can’t all be heroes. Some people must sit on the curb and clap as the parade goes by.

Kindrick led members in the Homemaker’s Creed. Penny Scholes read the Handy Hint: Doing nothing is hard work because you cannot stop to rest. Jim Wilson read the Inspiration from Ephesians 4:32.

Secretary Jo Ann Carr called the roll with members answering the question: Name one thing you like and one thing you dislike about your club meeting. Ten members were present and one guest, Mary Ann Kizer, Jefferson County Family & Consumer Sciences agent, according to a news release.

Kathy Wilson presented the program on “Ten Ways to Kill a Club….But….Teamwork can build it up!”

Wilson asked, “Have you ever wondered why an extremely talented man or woman is unable to provide leadership to a particular group? Have you ever wondered why some clubs are successful and some die out?”

Wilson went over 10 ways that members can kill a club, including: Don’t come to meetings, but if they do, arrive late; leave before meeting is over and make sure everyone hears them leave; find faults with work officers and other members; talk cooperation but never cooperate; threaten to leave the club if something isn’t the way they want it. She said leadership does not rest solely with the leader; it is also a group function. Wilson also passed out a handout with Ideas for Building Membership. If you are interested in learning more about this program, you can contact Kizer at the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service, (870) 534-1033.

Also during the meeting, Kizer installed the new 2025-2027 club officers: Sarah Payton, President; Dee Kindrick, Vice-President; Tonia Dalby, Secretary; Marnette Reed, Treasurer and Karen Needler, Parliamentarian.
