The HIPPY Program will host its literacy fair at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at the Pine Bluff High School gymnasium.
The Arkansas River Education Service Cooperative’s HIPPY (Home Instruction For Parents of Preschool Youngsters) is a free 30 week home visiting program, according to its website.
The literacy fair is for HIPPY parents and their children who are enrolled in the program. In the Pine Bluff area, there are 200 participants, spokeswoman Sharee Britton said in a news release.
The event will include free books, free library cards, door prizes and food. Participants will also include a spokesman with the Children’s Library of the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Library System, the Pine Bluff High School marching band and the cheerleaders.
