Highway work to start in 7 counties

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid to resurface 3.3 miles of highways in Chicot, Clark, Drew, Garland, Lonoke, Pulaski and Saline counties.

Deangelo Brothers LLC was awarded the contract at $1,194,315, according to a press release from the Highway and Transportation Department.

Construction will start in two to four weeks, weather permitting, and should be complete this spring.

Counties, highways, locations and distances in Southeast Arkansas include:

Chicot, Highway 65, extends south from the intersection of Highways 82 and 65, 0.04 miles;

Clark, Highway 7, extends south from Manchester Road to 1.5 miles west of Bethel Drive, 0.3 miles;

Drew, Highway 278, extends from 0.3 miles west to 0.7 mile west of Bordeaux Drive, 0.4 miles.
