The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid to resurface 4.7 miles of Highways 4 and 159 in Desha County.
Redstone Construction Group Inc. of Little Rock was awarded the contract at $1,273,813, according to a press release from the Highway and Transportation Department.
Work on Highway 4 will extend 1.3 miles between Highways 65 and 159 south of McGehee and just east of Highway 159. The work on Highway 159 will extend 3.4 miles east of Highway 65 just southeast of McGehee.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. The project should be complete early this summer.
