Hawley Memorial United Methodist Church, 1575 Ridgway Road, will present a Community Readathon Fun and Fellowship from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26.
The event will include expressive reading with prizes, a fellowship meal, and a book for each child to take home, according to a news release.
“Let’s emphasize reading as fun and give our children a handful of love to inspire them to do well in school this year,” the Rev. Edna Morgan, Hawley pastor, said.
The community is invited to attend the event sponsored by Hawley, Book Town USA, Healing Place, Wal-Mart and Family Dollar Store.
