SULPHUR SPRINGS COMM. – Ulyses Gurvin Murdock, 80, of the Sulphur Springs Community, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015.
Born March 14, 1935 at Jefferson County, he was a son of Frank and Emma Jones Murdock.
Mr. Murdock was a member of Double Wells Assembly of God and a 1953 graduate of Watson Chapel High School. A master upholsterer, Mr. Murdock worked for Hendricks Trim for 32 years before going into business for himself.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Murdock Mason; an infant grandson, Randall; and eight siblings.
Mr. Murdock is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Cara Jean Meadows Murdock; son, Darrell Murdock; sister, Alice Fontenot; three grandchildren, Shawn, Darren and Triston; three great-grandchildren; and many loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at Double Wells Assembly of God with Pastor Mike Cotrell officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, 6-8 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Chapel.
