Glen Brown Sr. to seek re-election to PB City Council

Alderman Glen Brown Sr. has announced plans to seek re-election for a third*** term to his Ward 3 seat on the Pine Bluff City Council.

Brown will run as a Democrat in the March 1 primary.

He has previously served four terms on the Jefferson County Quorum Court.

“I look forward to continuing to represent everyone in Pine Bluff fairly,” Brown said in a press release. “I am committed to running a positive campaign, one in which I will display integrity and honesty in all my interactions.”

Brown said in the press release that he believes in the progression of Pine Bluff and has been working hard to improve the quality of life through the promotion of recreational facilities, shopping areas, restaurants and job creation.

“My fellow councilmen and I have made great strides to move Pine Bluff in a positive direction,” Brown said in the release. “We have constantly passed ordinances and resolutions to make Pine Bluff a community that we can all be proud of. In addition, we are constantly working to hold our commissions and department heads accountable, which in turn benefits the people of Pine Bluff.

“It will be a great privilege for me as I strive to continue to serve my community and the residents of Ward 3. I pledge to listen openly to the concerns of all our community members and be a strong, independent voice for their concerns. I have a vision of building a better Pine Bluff, one that thrives economically and maintains a feeling of quality of life in our neighborhoods.”

Brown is a University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff graduate. He is married to the former Clara Gardner. They have two sons, Alderman Glen Brown Jr. and Gavin Brown, and two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Glen III “Trey.”

Democrat Donald Hatchett has also announced that he is running for the Ward 3 council seat.
