Girl Scouts will host the Cardboard Boat Regatta from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Regional Park at Pine Bluff.
Sponsored by Girl Scouts – Diamonds, the event for girl members and families.
“Girls will come together and bring out their inner engineer to design a boat made entirely of cardboard and duct tape,” a spokesman said in a news release. “After constructing the boats, participants will paddle them through water with a friend on board! In teams of three or four, girls will use teamwork, leadership and creative skills to make and race their boat to the finish line.
Girl Scouts – Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas serves more than 9,000 girls and 3,700 volunteers.
“Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place,” the spokesman said.
