STAR CITY — Gene Auston Earnest, 74, of Star City, died Tuesday. He was born August 21, 1937, in Thornton, Ark., to the late Thomas McRay and Agnes Irene Hutcheson Earnest. Survivors: his wife; Mae Bell Earnest, three sons; Carl Earnest, Orville Earnest, Larry Earnest, Donald Earnest; one daughter, Terry Gates; one brother, Walter Earnest; one sister, Julia Davis; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Griffin Funeral Chapel. Bro. Frank Matchett and Bro. Dwayne Roper officiating. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
