FOND DU LAC, Wis — Frances D. Bennett Cleveland, 81, a former resident of Pine Bluff, Ark., died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in Fond du Lac, Wis. She was born on October 24, 1930 in Lonoke County, Ark., to James and Jettie (McKinney) Bennett. She married Marvin A. Cleveland, Jr. on July 10, 1948. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1966.
Frances was a long-time sales associate at Dillard’s Department Store prior to her illness last year. She has resided at GranCare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since March 2011. Frances enjoyed her grandchildren, sports and has been an avid Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan since arriving in Fond du Lac.
Survivors include two children, Caryn (John) Cleveland-Short, Fond du Lac and Gregory M. (Deana) Cleveland, Pine Bluff, Ark. She is further survived by six grandchildren, Jefferson (Xandra) Tabler, Tiffany (Thomas) Wilson, Meghann Short, Chase, Chance and Chambliss Cleveland; four great-grandchildren, Elysia, Alexis, Cole, and Hayden Grace; a dear family friend, Annette E. Murphy, Fond du Lac; one brother, James “Red” C. (Marie) Bennett, Jr., Pine Bluff, Ark.; and one sister, Helen Bennett Tiner, North Little Rock, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Gussie Stone and Juanita Gibson.
A Memorial Service, in celebration of her life, will be held at Forest Park Assembly of God in Pine Bluff, Ark. at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012. Family will receive friends immediately following the service.
The family will be at 7437 Suburbia Drive, Pine Bluff, Ark.
