Glen Brown Sr., a former elected official, announces his intentions to run for Justice of the Peace in District 6 on the Jefferson County Quorum Court.

Brown has served as a Justice of the Peace and City Council member previously.

“I previously served on the Quorum Court for four (4) terms, on the Pine Bluff City Council for three (3) terms. Therefore I believe it’s safe to say that I’m running for reelection,” he said in a news release.

He has a desire to make Jefferson County the place residents want to be.

“With that thought in mind, we can make the county profitable and enjoyable by making it a safe place to live, and by fostering a better quality of life,” Brown said.

While he’s supported a number of issues in the past, there are many more problems left that need to be solved, he said.

“I have been equipped with the experience and knowledge to make sound decisions for the citizens of Jefferson County. I am excited about having a chance to serve on the quorum court as we work together to navigate through the issues,” he said. “I am committed to being a dedicated advocate for our community and to making decisions that reflect our shared values.”

His goal is to be accessible, accountable, honest and fair. He will remain focused on the needs of the people he’d serve.

Brown is married to the former Clara Gardner, and has two adult sons, Glen Brown Jr. and Gavin D. Brown, and four grandchildren.

“Please join me in making our city and county the best it can be,” he said.

The filing period for candidates begins Nov. 3. The primary election is March 3.
