FBC Senior Adult Ministry takes trip to Little Rock

The Senior Adult Ministry of First Baptist Church at Pine Bluff recently took a trip to Little Rock for after Christmas sales shopping at Park Plaza Mall and dining at Romano’s Macaroni Grill.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill is a favorite for many. Here a boisterous, all-ages crowd of pasta lovers pack this energetic, Italian spot, where chefs clad in white hats and red scarves keep diners wide-eyed by showing their moves in the busy open kitchen. The menu boasts family-sized portions of hearty traditional fare, from antipasti, chicken and pasta dishes to seafood, steak and wood-fired pizzas. Signature plates include grilled pork chops, lobster ravioli and penne rustica with shrimp, grilled chicken and smoked prosciutto in cream sauce.

Pat Crain and Jeanette McGrew’s favorite was the shrimp portofino. Sara Cromer chose grilled king salmon and Catherine Long opted for chicken under a brick. The driver and interim youth minister of the church went for the Florentine steak and frites (parmesan fries).

After lunch, the group went to Park Plaza Mall — one of the first covered malls in Little Rock. A favorite shopping place was the shoe department at Dillard’s, where one can find every brand of footwear. A number of good buys were found at Coldwater Creek. Everyone managed to go home with a bag.

Those making the trip were Audrey Borecky, Crain, Cromer, JoAnn Gregory, Peggy Howard, Long, McGrew and Wanda Scruggs.
