Extension Service sets child care training

The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service will present free child care training from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the parish hall of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 412 W. Sixth Ave.

The Best Care training will be held in partnership with the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. The research-based, professional development training is for educators or caregivers of young children.

Topics include Two Bite Club; Let’s Sing…Do, Re, Mi; Grow It, Try It, Like It – Part 1 and 2; Celebrating Cultures: Activities and Resources for the Multicultural Classroom; Active Play; Child Care Disaster Preparedness: Infant and Toddler Literacy; Classroom Transitions; and Effective Communication Skills.

Instructors will be Family and Consumer Sciences Agents — Diane Clement of Cleveland County, and Mary Ann Kizer of Jefferson County.
