Alexia Lams’ senior art thesis exhibition, “Mercurial Rhyme and Reason,” will be on display through April 11 in the Glassblock Gallery at the Fred J. Taylor Library and Technology Center at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

Lams’ exhibition explores different venues of painting, drawing and ceramics, according to a news release. One series explores micro- or macro-cosmic universes through amorphic relationships of shape, color and space. Other representational paintings examine her interaction with the immediate environment, the release states.

Lams has exhibited her work in galleries and museums including the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum, the Indianapolis Art Center and the River Oaks Square Art Center in Alexandria, La.

She has a piece included in the Arkansas Arts Council’s “Small Works on Paper” exhibition, which will travel to nine locations throughout the state in 2024. She was also recognized in 2024 as student of the year by the Arkansas Art Educators Association.

The Glassblock Gallery’s hours are Mondays from 9-10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30-3 p.m.; Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
