EOC to accept LIHEAP forms starting July 6

The Pine Bluff-Jefferson County Economic Opportunities Commission will accept applications for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program starting Monday, July 6, until all the funds are gone.

EOC has funds to help families with electric bills through the summer regular and crisis energy assistance program. LIHEAP will be offered in Jefferson, Grant, Cleveland, Arkansas and Lincoln counties.

All applications will be accepted on a first come, first served walk-in basis, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. until noon, or the first 50 applicants.

Applicants for LIHEAP must meet income guidelines. For a household of one, monthly countable income is $1,533. For each additional person in the home, add $471.

To apply, the applicant should bring a copy of the gas and electric bills, Social Security numbers, proof of monthly income and dates of birth for all household members. Additional information may be required during the interview. Details: EOC, 536-0046.
