Edgar William Stain, 68, of Dumas, Ark., passed away April 11, 2016 at his home. He was born October 3, 1947 at Back Gate, Ark., to the late Roy and Myrtis Cleaver Stain. Edgar was a Law Enforcement officer, having served City of Dumas Police Department 1974-1983, the Desha County Sheriff Department 1988-2007 in addition he was Desha County Constable for 40 years, retired Volunteer Fire Fighter 25 years, Master Electrician for 35 years and a 32* Mason of Omega Lodge. Edgar was a member of Rankin Chapel Baptist Church, Dumas, Ark.
Survivors are his wife, Rose Blackwood Stain, Dumas, Ark., a son Steven (Tammy) Stain, Monticello, ARrk., two brothers, Leroy Stain, Pine Bluff, Ark., Billy Stain, Yellville, Ark., three sisters, Betty Magness, Bea Smith both of Dumas, Ark., and Margaret Stafford, Pine Bluff, Ark., three grandchildren, Kendall, Kelli Jo and Kevin Stain. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kendall Stain, a brother, Joe Stain and a sister Loetta Stain.
Visitation held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas. Funeral services held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas followed by burial in Walnut Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Desha County Museum, P.O.
