The Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted the Shells & Shadows Solar Eclipse Crawfish Boil for the community on April 7 in downtown Pine Bluff.

The crawfish boil was held the Sunday before the historic solar eclipse April 8 that left many parts of Arkansas in complete darkness. The event was held at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas/ARTx3, 701 S. Main St., in the alleyway and parking lot.

“Desert Rose,” a group made up of teenagers from the area, provided entertainment. There were crawfish, music and beverages.

“Attendees enjoyed delicious crawfish served by Cooter Failla and team, delicious drinks from MK Distributors, and listened to live music by Desert Rose. There were also lots of Moon Pies, Starburst, and Sunkist soda on-hand for this out of world event,” according to the Chamber newsletter.

“We even had two visitors from Missouri and Louisiana attend who were in Pine Bluff for the eclipse and learned about the event through social media. Thanks for coming, Robin and Amanda,” the newsletter said.

The Chamber also offered thanks to all of the for making this event happen.

“The ASC alleyway was the perfect backdrop for a fun, outdoor event,” according to the newsletter.
