Driver in accident that hit gas pumps cited for DWI

An estimated $50,000 in damage was reported at a Pine Bluff convenience store early Friday morning after a gas pump and a beam holding up the canopy were struck by a vehicle.

Police reported that Curtis K. Sanders, 52, of Searcy, was traveling north on Camden Road/Blake Street when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving which ran off the roadway and struck the pumps at Sinclair convenience store, 2215 S. Blake St.

Sanders was issued citations for DWI, refusal to submit to a breath alcohol test, failure to maintain control of his vehicle, striking a fixed object and no proof of insurance.

The police report said Sanders was driving a 2011 Ford F-250 pickup registered to Edge Oilfield Services of Sibley, La. Damage to that vehicle was listed at $20,000.
