MONTICELLO – Doris Marie Shelby Barnes Yost, 81 of Monticello passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was born in Cornersville, Ark. on December 1, 1933 to the late Dossie Shelby and Ruby Bonner Moore. He was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Mervin Barnes and her husband, Lawrence Yost; one brother, Billy Shelby; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Anne and Garland Garrison.
She was a private caregiver and a member of Second Baptist Church. She was a very giving person and loved her family, always making sure they were taken care of. She was the best grandmother ever.
Survivors include two sons, Buddy Barnes and wife Billie of Strong and Frank Barnes also of Strong; one daughter, Gloria Chadwick and husband Wayne of Strong; three brothers, Vernon, Richard and Curtis Moore of North Little Rock; one sister, Carolyn King of El Paso, AR; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 6 at Stephenson-Dearman Home with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
