The long-awaited demolition of derelict and abandoned housing in Pine Bluff using individuals trained by the Arkansas Department of Community Correction will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, according to a press release from police Lt. David Price.
He said the first house to be demolished will be at 1506 W. 19th Ave.
Funding for the program is being administered by an $830,000 grant. Six hundred derelict, abandoned and nuisance houses in Pine Bluff will be demolished over the course of two years, Price said.
